Christian Yang, DDS

Dr. Christian Yang is a native of South Korea who grew up in Paraguay, South America. Upon graduating high school, Dr. Yang headed to Boston to attend college. He eventually moved to Los Angeles, which he now considers home. As a result, he is trilingual and fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean. Having lived in many different parts of the country and abroad, Dr. Yang developed an appreciation for different types of people and diverse cultures. This experience helps him better understand and serve the diverse patients in greater Los Angeles.

Dr. Yang received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from the University of California, Irvine, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the prestigious Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. He served as the president of the Korean Dental Student Association and graduated with multiple honors and awards; he was a recipient of the Dr. Page Endowed Scholarship and was also awarded by the Western Society of Periodontology for his excellence in academic and clinical periodontics.

After working as an associate dentist for six years, Dr. Yang took over the current practice in downtown Downey in 2014 from a well-respected retiring dentist in the community. He takes great pride in continuing the legacy of the previous doctor who established this practice in the early 1950s.

Dr. Yang truly values and appreciates every patient and is passionate about educating his patients on the importance of oral health as part of our overall health and wellness. To provide his patients with top-quality care, Dr. Yang constantly devotes his time outside his practice to studying and learning the rapidly changing technologies of today’s modern dentistry by participating in numerous seminars and continuing education, which keeps his training and skills up to date and current.

Dr. Yang enjoys spending time with his friends and family in his spare time. As a self-proclaimed foodie/chef, he loves exploring different cuisines and enjoys cooking for his loved ones. He is also a sports enthusiast and enjoys just about every sport.

He is very thorough at explaining things, genuinely cares about his patients, Is very gentle with administering numbing and always asks if I'm comfortable while working on me. He's honest with what problems need to be addressed immediately and what can wait. I love the staff as well, they are kind, caring and very sweet. I highly recommend Dr Yang and his staff especially to people who are afraid of the dentist. He will help you feel comfortable and at ease. Their schedule is very open and flexible.
